1. Four must-replace warning signs
●Yellowing (worst on white / light OEM)
Visible ΔYI > 3 usually shows at 5–7 years (cheap films: 2–3 years).
●3+ edge lifts
One lift can be re-pressed. Three or more means the adhesive is done — replace the whole panel.
●Self-healing gone
10 minutes at 50 °C and micro-scratches don't recover = TPU top-coat is dead.
●Surface crazing / spider cracks
UV damage has reached the base film — no recovery possible, replace.
2. Three removal methods compared

Rule: never cold-pull or brute-force. That takes clear coat with it.
3. Does removal damage the paint?
●Factory paint (normal 120 μm+ thickness)
Tier-1 removal: 99% of cases zero damage. Paint depth is IR-gauged before delivery.
●Respray areas (possibly <80 μm)
Medium risk. Measure thickness first, switch to steam + solvent for thin panels.
●Cheap film or 8+ years old
Adhesive has cross-linked with clear coat — residue / light haze may remain, needs polish.
