Porsche 718 Cayman / Boxster is the entry mid-engine 2-seater with heritage from the 60s 550 Spyder. Short body (4,379mm), low stance (front lip 115mm — lowest in the Porsche lineup) and wide arches (rear 265mm wide tires) make the 718 especially prone to scraping the front lip and arch edges — a single speed bump or careless parking can chip the lip or take paint clean off.

718 owners are typically enthusiasts who frequent track days or mountain drives, exposing the front lip and hood to constant high-speed stone chip, bug splat and tar. Full-car PPF plus Front End Package is standard protection for paint and resale — for GT4 / GT4 RS track-spec variants, PPF is essentially mandatory.

718 GT4 (2020+) and GT4 RS (2022+) feature track-spec aero: Fixed Rear Wing, Front Diffuser, Side Splitter and NACA ducts — each an easily-scraped, expensive carbon or aero-plastic piece (single GT4 RS front diffuser replacement HK$25,000+). We provide dedicated GSWF 190μm PPF templates for the full GT4 RS aero package, covering every edge and seam.

GT4 RS additionally has a roof Air Intake — a globally unique design that generic templates can't cover. We developed a dedicated template for the GT4 RS roof scoop covering both scoop edges and inlet front-wall paint, defending against UV and small stone chips to the scoop finish.

Boxster convertible soft-top is mechanically complex — extending from the A-pillar top to the rear body, involving 4 electric hydraulic rams + 12 mechanical joints. The soft-top front rail, A-pillar top and body seam (Cowl Panel) are the highest-scrape zones. We design dedicated narrow-strip PPF for these areas, keeping clear of the mechanical rails and hydraulic ram travel zones.

Every install is verified with 10+ Boxster soft-top open/close cycles to confirm soft-top speed (0-100% in 9s), automatic close-on-lock and anti-pinch sensors all remain factory-spec. Long-term convertible use (UV + rain cycling) fades and oxidises A-pillar-top paint fastest — PPF coverage extends paint life by 5–8 years, essential protection for Boxster owners.

The 718 Cayman/Boxster is 1,801mm wide so parking is easy, but low ground clearance and a short front overhang make steep car-park entrances and speed humps the main threat to the front lip and side skirts. Side intake edges and the rear lower diffuser also collect chips and scuffs.

Our 718 package extends bumper coverage 5cm further down the lip and adds headlights, mirrors, A-pillars and the roof leading edge, from HK$9,800; full-body PPF is HK$18,000 – HK$28,000+. Once a sports car has been resprayed, trade buyers discount it — keeping original paint pays.

Most 718 owners go for contrast: keep the factory Racing Yellow or GT Silver body and switch the roof, ducktail, grilles and mirrors to satin black for an instant GT4 flavour. Accent sets start at HK$3,800.

For full colour changes, CYBRIX IRONMIX Racing Blue and Fantasy Green are the favourites, at HK$25,000 – HK$33,000+ with a 5-year warranty. All colour film is self-healing TPU, so it suits a 718 that sees weekend track or hill runs.
