Falcon Wing doors are Tesla's signature dual-hinge design — an upper hinge in the roof rail plus a mid-hinge in the door itself, paired with ultrasonic sensors and radar to open/close in gaps as narrow as 30cm. It's a design statement, but a major PPF challenge: door edges, hinges and sensor windows all need custom narrow templates that avoid every sensor window, or misapplied film can trigger false sensor readings.

LETS GET WRAP developed a five-piece dedicated Falcon Wing template: (1) door outer panel PPF, (2) 8mm door-edge PPF strip, (3) upper hinge perimeter cutout, (4) mid-hinge sensor window cutout, (5) inner door edge (passenger scuff zone) protection. Every install is tested with 20+ open/close cycles to confirm all three sensor systems (ultrasonic, radar, inertial) work normally.

From March 2022 Tesla introduced Model X Refresh (Plaid generation) with new front bumper, headlights, grille area and interior (Yoke steering wheel) — noticeably different from 2015–2021 Legacy. We stock the official GSWF Model X Refresh digital template library and never force-fit Legacy patterns on Refresh cars, which would leave protrusions and incomplete coverage.

Model X's signature panoramic windshield extends from the front to the roof mid-section with no A-pillar break. That means the glass surround (black seal + body metal + A-pillar front section) sees constant UV and rain, aging seals and scratching paint during parking.

We provide a one-piece PPF template covering 20mm of glass seal + A-pillar front section + 300mm of front roof rail — giving owners full protection over the highest-wear front-end zone. Bundled with our Front End Package from HK$14,000, this beats piecemeal installation on cost.

The Model X is 1,999mm wide, leaving about 25cm per side in a standard bay. The falcon doors are the real challenge: sensors adjust the opening arc, but Hong Kong's low-ceiling car parks (some mall bays clear under 2m) and tight pillar spacing still let door edges and the roof rail catch pipes, sprinkler lines and pillar corners. We also see fine rub lines around the hinge area from repeated cycling.

For the Model X we extend film onto the falcon-door edges, roof rails and B-pillars on top of full front coverage, from HK$9,800; full-body PPF on this XL body is HK$20,000 – HK$32,000+. Soft Tesla paint over a large surface area makes full coverage the clear win.

Model X owners lean conservative: GSWF Chroma Guard Deep Black gloss, Satin Black, and Punisher Grey are the top three. For a subtler change, a roof-and-C-pillar two-tone or blacked-out grille and trim works well.

Full-body colour PPF on this XL body is HK$28,000 – HK$38,000+ with a 5-year warranty. The panoramic windscreen bakes in Hong Kong summers, so most owners add GSWF Night Shade ceramic film (over 90% heat rejection) during the same visit.
